Scotland Health Care System's new Director of Service Excellence, Paul Allemeier, is passionate about providing excellent customer service. With a long history in hospital service excellence and a stint as an entrepreneur, Allemeier knows the importance of instilling customer service philosophy and culture across the organization to ensure consistent excellent service.


After earning a BS in Public Health Administration from Indiana University and a Master's in Health Services Administration from Central Michigan University, Allemeier joined Kettering Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio in their Marketing and Communications Department. "After several years I left Kettering to join Antelope Valley Hospital in Lancaster, California, where I was responsible for marketing, development, and volunteers," stated Allemeier. "Several years later I became director of Community Relations at Havasu Regional Medical Center at Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where I was responsible for public relations and marketing, the service excellence program, and administrative lead for the service excellence teams. After earning experience planning hospital events such as Nurses Week, Volunteer Week, grand openings, and parties, I decided to branch out on my own and opened my own company, The Event Specialist, which was located in Alabama. But it wasn't long before I missed the hospital environment and decided to return to it."

Lori Dove, VP of Quality and Resource Management, is delighted with the addition of Allemeier to the health care team and stated, "Paul has an extensive history in health care and service excellence. His mother was a director of emergency services so he grew up around health care. He has worked for a number of other health care organizations in service and quality and has a strong passion for service excellence. He will be a great asset not just to our health care system but to the Scotland County community."

"I want the physicians, associates, and volunteers of Scotland Health Care System to provide the very best care and service. Service excellence is not about technology, it's about the human touch we provide to each and every customer while they are with us."

Allemeier makes his home in Laurinburg. He says he loves the lack of heavy traffic and the quick trip back and forth to work each day. He enjoys travel, golf, snow and water skiing, and gardening. "And, with Pinehurst just up the road my dad will be very happy to visit me in Laurinburg," he stated. "I have friends around North Carolina - Wilmington, Charlotte, High Point, and Oak Island, which makes it so nice to be in Laurinburg. I'm centrally located to my many friends.
