Scotland Health Care System is pleased to announce that Harris Family Practice and Scotland Surgical & GI have joined Scotland Regional Health Network (SRHN), the physician network of Scotland Health Care System. "These new partnerships align two strong medical practices with several other physician practices working with the health care system to further provide high quality, compassionate health care to our community," stated Paul Brooks, Executive Director of SRHN.

Scotland Regional Health Network was formed in 2009 to better organize several practices owned by the health care system and to provide a way for new physicians recruited to the region or existing practices to better focus on their patients. Under this arrangement, SRHN manages the business aspects of the practice so the physicians can spend more time on what they were trained and love to do: care for their patients. The operations of the practices are managed in a partnership between the health care system staff and Carolinas HealthCare System staff.

Dr. Glenn Harris established Harris Family Practice in 1993. Joining him in 2007 was Dr. Jennifer Locklear. Dr. Harris says he is delighted with the new management agreement. "Our practice has grown and now includes two physicians and two mid-level providers. Because a private practice has become incredibly difficult to manage I feel we can better serve our patients through this new affiliation. There are many entities I could have chosen as a practice partner but I knew Scotland Regional Health Network would be the best. It is run by superb executives who I have found to be trustworthy, faithful and interested in ensuring the community is provided excellent health care."

General Surgeon Dr. Brian Parkes established his surgical medical practice in 1990. Dr. Lanuti joined him in 1996 and over the past twenty years their practice has grown to serve the communities in and around Scotland County, with an excellent reputation for both care and service. They specialize in minimally invasive and laparoscopic surgery; gastrointestinal disease diagnosis and treatment; and cancer, endocrine, thyroid, breast, thoracic and trauma surgery. "This new relationship allows us to spend more time with our patients while hospital staff we know and trust manage our business operations" commented Dr. Parkes.

"We are pleased to have this outstanding group of physicians, and their staff members, join the SRHN family," added Mr. Brooks. "Our goal is to make the transition and integration as seamless as possible for patients at each practice in the Network."

Other practices that are a part of the network include: Maxton Family Practice Center, Wagram Family Practice Center, Pembroke Family Practice Center, Sterling Surgical & GI, and Scotland Health Care Center and Marlboro Ob/Gyn in Bennettsville. The seven medical providers who form the Hospitalist Service at Scotland Memorial Hospital are also members of Scotland Regional Health Network.
